eggless: january '14.

New year, new month, new menu for Eggless-lovers.  This month, in homage to Australia Day, they've chosen Australian-themed desserts such as Anzac Australian Fruit Crumble, Wattleseed & Macadamia Creme Brulee and many more.

Leatherwood Honey Madeleines & Vegemite Ice-cream: $9.50
How can anyone pass up an opportunity to try Vegemite icecream? Well, yes, plenty of people but I'm not one of them! It says 'mildly infused' but I could definitely taste the wheat-y flavour in my icecream, which was more like a sorbet.  I don't know if I liked it or not, but it was interesting to say the least. The madeleines were covered in honey and really sweet.  I gave up trying to finish them after one and a half because they were pretty dry on the inside, and when soaked with honey and ice-cream it tasted like cereal.

Mango & Coconut Float: $9.50

Layers of fresh mango, cream, toasted coconut and soaked biscuits made for a creamy treat.  I had a taste of this one and it was fairly rich, good for cream-lovers.  The mangoes were definitely the highlight - sweet, juicy and apparently they really do 'taste like they're from Darwin'.
